Occupational Therapy for Children

Children with special needs often demonstrate delays and deficits in their abilities to complete daily living activities. These deficits impact their ability to participate in their roles as students, sons or daughters, siblings, and playmates. Occupational therapists at SPOT Rehabilitation specialize in treatment for sensory integration disorders, feeding difficulties, fine motor coordination deficits, and environmental access through the use of technology.

The occupational therapist will complete a comprehensive and individualized evaluation to determine the child's specific needs, and will design a treatment plan to address the deficits. Treatment will then occur on a consistent basis, addressing the deficit areas, and working closely with the child and family to achieve as much independence in these areas as possible.
