Physical Therapy

  1. Provide recommendations for ankle-foot orthosis and progress strength/ROM to wean from orthosis as appropriate.
  2. Fall prevention
  3. Progression to least restrictive assistive device for mobility
  4. Car/bed/w/c /floor transfers with family training for optimal ease  to prevent pt/caregiver injuries
  5. Optimize normal movement pattern for improved gait quality and dynamic balance.

Occupational Therapy:

  1. Improve upper extremity strength, tone, and function
  2. Hand splinting to prevent contractures and improve function.
  3. Treatment with modalities and manual therapy for shoulder pain.
  4. Visual-perceptual evaluation, remediation and compensatory techniques.
  5. Cognitive assessment and remediation
  6.  Wheelchair/bed positioning evaluation and equipment needs.
  7. Provide education and adaptive equipment to increase ease and independence with self cares/homemaking
  8. In home assessment for promoting safety and independence, including recommendations for home modifications.

Speech Therapy:

  1. Improve ability to recall words when speaking.
  2. Improve speech intelligibility, breath support and voice quality when speaking.
  3. Provide strategies to maintain safety swallowing during mealtimes.
  4. Improve cognitive communication or help establish strategies to address memory, organization and problem solving.
  5. Provide communication device fitting when verbal communication is not possible.
